A closer view of this unusual Rock and the Portals of the road tunnel and rail tunnel.
In 1826, Scottish civil engineer Thomas Telford built a coast road passing the headland.
In 2009 two foot/cycle bridges were completed, spanning the westbound carriageway in front of each portal.
The Coast Path uses the bridges and passes the Devils Thumb on part of the route of Telford's road.
