Stwlan Dam
From Tanygrisiau the Dams service Road provides a direct route to the 37m high Dam.
The Ffestiniog Pumped Storage Scheme was opened in 1963.
Water from the reservoir, Llyn Stwlan, is used to drive four turbines in Ffestiniog Power Station
to generate electricity , in off-peak periods the turbines act as pumps to force water back to Llyn Stwlan.
