Blaenau Ffestiniog : Cwt - y - Bugail Slate Quarry
Cwt - y - Bugail , means Sheppards Hut , operated from 1863 to 1961.
The Quarry used the Rhiwbach Tramway to move its production .
The Tramway passes Llyn Bowydd and Llyn Newydd ,
through Maenofferen Quarries to Duffws Station - Ffestiniog Railways.
Welsh Slate (Breedon Group) operates nearby Graig-ddu Quarry
on Manod Mawr as Cwt - y - Bugail Quarry .
Route : From Llyn Bowydd follow the Tramway Eastwards to the Quarry ruins ( in places a very wet path ).
