9 - Benllech - Menai Bridge
Aberlleiniog Castle
When the Path reaches Lleinog continue along the road and a FP leads to Aberlleiniog Castle.
The area is heavily wooded and there is no good view of the Fort on its man made Hill Top of boulder clay.
A motte and bailey fortress was built in C11 by Hugh d'Avranches , 1st Earl of Chester .
In mid C17 a Civil War Fort was built on its summit and this is the stonework that can now be seen.
The Fort is square with a low surrounding Wall and round archers Towers in each corner.
