Planwydd Helyg Standing Stone
Also known as Waen Bant Standing Stone - an erect monolith, 1.9m high by 0.5m by 0.5m.
Probably dates to the Bronze Age (c. 2300 - 800 BC). Pared y Cefn-hir in the distance
It is situated South West of the Cregennen Lakes on the crest of a ridge , south of a road .

From Arthog (A493) two roads , both narrow, steep in places, with gates lead up to the Cregennen Lakes.
Or the very long , narrow road (Ffordd Ddu) from Dolgellau gives a gradual ascent.
