Gloddfa Ganol Slate Mine

the terraced houses at Tal-y-waenydd.The Gloddfa Ganol Slate Quarry was the former Rhiwbryfdir Quarry that was operational from 1833,
and it became one of the constituent quarries of the Oakley site after 1882 , closing in 1970.
The quarry has taken a chunk out of the mountain Allt-fawr.
The Ffestiniog Quarry has reopened producing blue-grey roofing slate.
