
The Northern Anglesey shore of the Menai Strait has visible evidence of at least 11 fish weir sites.
Five of these are in the Llangoed group - Aberlleiniog 1 and 2, Trecastell, to the North of Gorad Friars and Beaumaris to the South .
The weir consist of two arms, one pointing shoreward, the other running parallel with the shoreline near the low water mark.
They are constructed from dry stone walling and thought to be associated with the adjacent Llanfaes Friary.
