Common Hermit Crab
"Pagurus Bernhardus" / The Common Hermit Crab is only armoured on the forepart of
its body/ It protects the soft twisted abdomen by living in an abandoned shell /
Changing shells as it grows / It is able to walk about freely , carrying the shell with it /
The larger individuals live in Whelk shells.
