Criccieth Castle - 1

Built (1230) by Llywelyn the Great .
A Welsh fortress with a gatehouse flanked by D-shaped stone towers .
In 1283 the castle was captured by the English King - Edward I
In 1404 Welsh forces under Owain Glyndwr captured the castle ,
tore down the stone walls and set the Castle alight.
