Y Dre' Newydd (‘the new town’), also known as the Anglesey Barracks.
A single storey double row of slate built barracks facing inwards,built in the1870's.
The best-surviving of a number of Barrack complexes within Dinorwic Quarry.
Dinorwig Quarrymen travelled from Anglesey and many other communities in Gwynedd.
The Anglesey Barracks housed quarrymen unable to return home each night. Used until 1937.
